  Kathleen Lucas, Executive Director

Kathleen serves as the executive director for Pennsylvanians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty.  She has been active in human rights work with organizations including Amnesty International, NAACP, Pennsylvania Prison Society and many others.  Her professional background includes corporate management and work as an organization development consultant specializing in change management and strategic planning.

Kathleen earned both her B.S.and M.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University and later studied Cognitive Psychology at Rutgers University.

   

Loretta Barbee-Dare, Administrative Assistant

Community activist and local businesswoman Loretta Barbee-Dare is currently the Administrative Assistant for Pennsylvanians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty. She was born in Washington, D.C., raised in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, traveled and lived in many parts of the US, and became a permanent resident of the City of Harrisburg in 1987.

Ms. Barbee-Dare holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University, completed MBA courses at Kutztown and Liberty University, Small Business Development courses at Kutztown University, and many continuing education courses in Ethics, Legal Services, Total Quality Management {TQM), Grantwriting, Non-Profit Administration, and teaching. She is an Independent Associate Director with Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc., and utilizes her skills to consult with non-profits and small business in the area.

Active in many community organizations, Ms. Barbee-Dare serves on the Executive Boards of the Fair Housing Council of Capitol Region, Dauphin County Democratic Committee and Pride of the Neighborhood Academies, Inc. She has also served on the Harrisburg School District School Board of Directors.
